For the life of The Dungeon it has included The Librarie / Library - a list of all Dungeons & Dragons products in all editions. As the book collection at The Foalestead Citadel grows, The Library has closed it doors (for now), and in it's place is The Bookshelf. The big difference is the new sub-site will be more than just Dungeons & Dragons, also including Pathfinder, Starfinder, Call Of Cthulhu, 7th Sea, Candela Obscura, Castles & Crusades, Rivers Of London, World Of Darkness, Dungeon Crawl Classics, and much much more...
It will take a while for the books to start to populate again due to the complexities of the database changes. The Citadel staff will have a heap of data to manually convert. Without boring you too much with the detail, this is because Dunegons & Dragons isn't just a game with mulitple versions anymore - it is also a gaming system with multiple iterations. When a game uses the D&D gaming system, it doesn't mean it is Dungeons & Dragons. Pathfinder is a great example of this.
So a new year dawns on us - year number 11 gaming at The Foalestead Citadel. This year is of course super exciting, because by September we will have the revised 5th edition rules in our hands.
So what are my game related New Year's Resolutions?
That's right crew, we have been doing this 10 years today! On 10 August 2013 we had our first session of the D&D 4th edition adventure Keep On The Shadowfell. At that session was four of us that are still at the table today - Leyton, Isaiah, Ben, and Cameron.
You have probably noticed that The Foalestead Citadel (with a HUGE amount of help from Aaron) has been building quite a collection of 3D printed miniatures, and along with them an even bigger collection of STL 3D print files. In order to make it easy to know what we have / need we have started cataloguing them all here.
An odd new logo has appeared around The Foalestead Citadel in recent days. Appearing to be some sort of atomic symbol, it leads to this page. Something new must be on the horizon...
A lot of studies have been done on people that love to write themselves a good ol' list, often with little purpose. I'm one of those people, and so I'm happy to announce the Call Of Cthulhu Product page is now available.
Welcome to 2023! Hopefully this year will allow us a few more opportunities to play than the last couple have. We gained a new member last year when Stuart joined, but unfortunately lost Shan when life got in the way. Let's hope we can renew her membership sometime in the future.
It is worth noting that August 2023 will be the 10th anniversary of the opening of The Foalestead Citadel, when we played through the 4th edition adventure 'Keep On The Shadowfell'. Stay tuned for a few surprises throughout the year to celebrate under the banner of 'TFC10'.

By now you have probably heard whispers in dark corridors of a new edition of D&D looming in the near future, most likely for launch in 2024 for the game's 50th anniversary. At the 'Wizards Presents' showcase yesterday we finally got our first look at that future.
Amongst a heap of boring crap about Magic: The Gathering we also learnt that One D&D will be the code name of the next iteration. Good news is that whatever is in the pipeline will be backwards compatible with 5e (so my bookshelf is still looking sweet), and the even better part is we will be able to playtest everything in the coming months. Giddy up!
The other great news (although we knew it was very close) was the announcement of the return of the world of Krynn, with the new book Dragonlance, Shadow Of The Dragon Queen. It's an epic tale set during the legendary War Of The Lance. Read more here.
For our first journey into the lands of 3D printing at The Citadel we set ourselves up with a an Elegoo Mars Pro. It turned out to be trusty workhorse, with many hundreds of prints notched on it's bedhead - but all good things must come to an end, and with some serious LCD screen issues it has now been retired (or at least mothballed until suitable parts can be found to repair it).
The good news is, we are going for not just a replacement - but an UPGRADE! A sparkling new Elegoo Saturn S arrived today, allowing us to print items over twice the size of the previous printer. Perhaps it is time for that Tiamat model to get started?
40 years is a pretty important milestone, so to celebrate Chaosium has revised the Call Of Cthulhu Starter Set with new box art and book designs. The new version will be out on the 27th of June. Read more here.
It was probably the worst kept secret in recent times, but it has finally been confirmed. The legendary Spelljammer campaign setting is back - where interplanar travel is the norm. A three book boxed set is due for release in August. Read more here.

First The Dungeon gets an overhaul, and now a whole new site is launched! Cthulhu Awakens will cover all your Call Of Cthulhu gaming needs.
It seems a new Starter Set is on its way. Available on the 4th of October, the set will feature a whole new introductory adventure called Dragons Of Stormwreck Isle. It will have to be pretty good to compete with Lost Mine Of Phandelver from the current set. Read more here.
All good things must come to an end, and The Dungeon 3 had unfortunately outlived it's usefulness. The prototype of the new Dungeon site proved successful - it is easier for The Foalestead Citadel to update, and 100% mobile phone friendly. So - Welcome to The Dungeon IV! It is now ready to use, but there is a fair bit of content still to migrate. I'm keen to hear your feedback on the improvements.
For reasons out of our control Strahd retreated to his coffin early last year, and began a long slumber. He now rises again and our journey in Barovia will now continue! Stay tuned for info on the next session.
We aren't even through January and the first new book announcement has been made! Mordenkainen Presents Monsters Of The Multiverse will include a heap of new creatures, plus over 250 from previous accessories and adventures revisited. It will be available on the 17th of May. Read more here.

A new year is upon us, this being our 7th continuous year of D&D (and now other RPGs) at The Foalestead Citadel. Things to look forward to this year are the return of Strahd (finally), and The Wild Beyond The Witchlight campaign DM'ed by Aaron.
The Great Old One Cthulhu has awakened at The Foalestead Citadel, and we will start things off with a scenario called The Haunting.
Because The Foalestead Citadel prides itself on giving you the best D&D experience we have obtained another 3D printer. This one is a PLA printer and is specifically for terrain and larger items. You'll hopefully see what it can do at the next session.
Darrington Press have announced that the Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting (released by Green Ronin in 2017) is getting a revamp, in the form of Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn. Tal'Dorei is of course the setting of the first campaign run by the hugely popular Critical Role crew. The book should be available in early 2022.
Yet another new official book has been announced! This one is a source book devoted to dragon lore. Fizban's Treasury Of Dragons will be available from October 19. Read more here.

The second is another Magic: The Gathering crossover, and is called Strixhaven, Curriculum Of Chaos. This is a source book focused on the great Strixhaven University, and will be released on November 16. Read more here.
Van Richten's Guide To Ravenloft was officially released today. It contains details about not just the lands of Barovia, but many locations within The Domains Of Dread. Read more here.

In the ultimate crossover Hasbro has announced a Stranger Things Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set will be released on the 1st of May. If you have watched the Netflix show you will know that the kids featured play Dungeons & Dragons, and it is somewhat pivotal to the entire story. Like all good starter boxes should, it has a rule book, an adventure book, pre-rolled character sheets for five characters, six dice, and a demogorgon miniature. It is even being released in a 1980's inspired 'red box'. I'll assume the adventure will be something Stranger Things related, which may be interesting. Read more here.
